We live in a place of extraordinary beauty and rich history. We also are fortunate to have a somewhat diverse economy – ranging from manufacturing to public service, from the seafood industry to the hospitality industry. Creative local entrepreneurs own hundreds of small businesses.

This diversity has helped shield our region from some of the worse effects of the world economic crisis. And courageous and visionary people will seize the opportunities of these times and contribute to the vibrant communities of our future.
